Most people wait until something feels safe.
The problem is that by the time something feels safe, the opportunity has usually gone.
The best opportunities rarely arrive polished.
They arrive early.
They arrive uncertain.
They arrive before the crowd understands what is happening.
That is where I believe we are today.
After spending the last few years focused on projects and challenges on the East Coast, my full attention is now on Los Angeles.
No bitterness.
No looking backwards.
Just lessons learned and energy redirected.
I’ve spent years talking about how football could be better.
Now it’s time to prove it.
The Los Angeles Aztecs are not just a football club.
Or, for the American audience, not just a soccer club.
They are an opportunity to build something different.
A football brand.
A soccer community.
A media platform.
A supporter movement.
A business.
An asset.
Something that starts with the game but can become much bigger than ninety minutes on a pitch.
So what are we actually building?
We are building the Los Angeles Aztecs as part of a larger football, soccer, media, and supporter ecosystem.
The goal is not simply to launch a team.
The goal is to build a valuable sports brand, supporter community, media platform, live events business, and club ownership structure capable of generating long-term value.
The club is the heartbeat.
The community is the engine.
The media platform is the amplifier.
Together, they create something much larger than a team playing each week.
Los Angeles is one of the most influential sports, entertainment, and media markets in the world.
It is a city built by dreamers.
Built by entrepreneurs.
Built by people willing to back a vision before everyone else could see it.
That is exactly why I believe in the Los Angeles Aztecs.
Not because of nostalgia.
Not because of a logo.
Not because of what the club once was.
Because of what it can become.
The original Los Angeles Aztecs attracted legends.
George Best.
Johan Cruyff.
Big personalities.
Big ambition.
Big ideas.
But this isn’t about living in the past.
Nostalgia gets attention.
Building creates value.
And that is what this is about.
Building.
People often ask why Los Angeles needs another soccer club.
The answer is simple.
We’re not trying to be the next LA Galaxy.
We’re not trying to be the next LAFC.
Those clubs already exist.
Our opportunity sits in a different place.
We’re building for supporters who want connection, participation, culture, community, and a genuine sense of belonging.
The biggest clubs own the stadiums.
We want to own the relationship with the supporters.
That is a very different strategy.
The game has never been richer.
Yet many supporters have never felt further away from it.
The fans create the atmosphere.
The fans create the culture.
The fans create the stories.
The fans create the value.
Yet too often they are treated like customers instead of participants.
That never sat right with me.
I believe supporters deserve more than a receipt.
I believe they deserve a role.
That is why we are building the Los Angeles Aztecs around participation, community, media, ownership, and story.
Not another soulless sports project.
Not another corporate brochure dressed up as a dream.
Something real.
Something supporters can help shape.
Something early believers can proudly say they helped build.
I’ll be honest.
This won’t be easy.
If it were easy, somebody in a nicer suit would have already done it.
I’ve made mistakes.
I’ve learned expensive lessons.
I’ve taken punches.
But I’m still here.
Still building.
Still believing.
And now I’m asking you to join me.
Not as a spectator.
As a builder.
Because this is not just about watching football.
Or soccer.
This is about building a community around the Los Angeles Aztecs.
Watching is passive.
Building is active.
The Los Angeles Aztecs need people who will talk about it, share it, question it, challenge it, and bring others into the story.
Tell your friends what we’re building.
Send them the link.
Start the conversation.
Because clubs are never really built by one person.
They’re built by communities.
They’re built by stories.
They’re built by friendships.
They’re built by belief.
The songs.
The shirts.
The watch parties.
The first group chat.
The first supporters’ meet-up.
The first person who says, “I was there before everyone else noticed.”
That is what we are building around the Los Angeles Aztecs.
Not just a team.
A fan community.
A movement people can belong to from the beginning.
And I want to make this personal.
The first 50 supporters who join us will receive an invitation to a private Zoom call with me.
No scripts.
No PR team.
No gatekeepers.
Just a direct conversation.
Ask me anything.
The vision.
The strategy.
The risks.
The opportunity.
The roadmap.
The lessons I’ve learned.
Where I believe this can go.
I’ll answer honestly.
Because if we’re building something together, trust matters.
The people who get involved early don’t just back a project.
They become part of the origin story.
Years from now, if the Los Angeles Aztecs become what I believe they can become, people will talk about the club, the community, the supporters, the media platform, and the movement.
But there will always be a smaller group who can say something different.
“I was there at the beginning.”
“I saw it before the crowd.”
“I helped build it.”
That’s the opportunity.
Not to watch history.
To help create it.
So here’s my invitation.
Take a look.
Ask questions.
Do your research.
Challenge the model.
And if the vision resonates with you, join us.
Because the future won’t be built by spectators.
It will be built by people willing to step forward before the room fills up.
